Bug In Handbook (English and Japanese Edition)

On Sunday 20 October 1968 the first BugIn was held at Orange County International Raceway, just south of Los Angeles. This was the first show of its kind worldwide, catering exclusively for Volkswagens. It was the beginning of a whole new movement, one could say that the air-cooled Volkswagen culture that we know today is as a result of this foundation stone. The Bug-In phenomenon is finally receiving the recognition it deserves, due to a new book just published in Japan of all places. The book covers the whole story in depth, with fascinating photos reflecting the entire era of Bug-In from #1 back in 1968 through to Bug-In #31 in 1983. A fascinating look back at the show-cars and the Drag racers from forty years ago that helped shape the cars of today. As many of you will already know, Bug-In has risen from the ashes, with the launch of the European BugIn #1 in Chimay Belgium during the summer of 2007. The first European show was a huge success and is set to continue on an annual basis. The new book also covers this exciting new development in the Bug-In story. The good news, is thatsome part of stories in the book is available in English as well as Japanese.
