The Feast of the Goat After 35 years of absence, Urania Cabral returns to her native Dominican Republic. 35 years ago, the whole Dominican Republic was dominated by Rafael Trujillo, a cold-blooded dictator, while Cabral, Uranias father, is a capable assistant to the dictator. In response to these interrogations, Urania recounts those past beautiful memories, political intrigues and the secret that ruins her life. Rafael Trujillo, the former dictator of the Dominican Republic, who is described as a devil, once imposed the atrocities of dictatorship on more than 3 million Dominicans. Under his dictatorship of more than 30 years (1930-1961), the whole country is turned into a living hell. Through the fictional experience of a woman, the novel represents the bloodiest dictatorial rule of the Latin America.
