Philosophy is the basis of Education, Philosophy is indispensable for every aspect of Education. There is need for Philosophy in every aspect of Education. In the absence of Philosophical Foundations. Education becomes irrelevant, meaningless, lifeless and colourless. These philosophical foundations on education are given by great thinkers. Education is the dynamic side of Philosophy. The art of education would never attain complete clearness in itself without Philosophy. Education wihtout Philosophy is blind and Philosophy without education is invalid. There is a great need to understand the educational philosphy of Indian and Western Thinkers. This is tha main reason behind writing this book. In this book 13 Western thinkers which are Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Job Dewey, John Amos Comenius, Friedrich Audust Froebel, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Maria Montessori, Bertand Russell, Herbert Spencer, Hegel, Karl Heinrick Marx, Frederic Engels. This book covers the syllabus of almost all the universities of India in relation to life sketch and educational philosophy of different thinkers.
