Gandhism and Indian English Fiction: The Sword and the Sickle, Kanthapura, and Waiting for the Mahatma

Many scholars have done serious academic studies of novelists like Mulk Raj Anand, Raja Rao and R.K. Narayan. However, few studies examine the work of these three foremost Indian novelists writing in English during the most eventful period of the nationalist movement. The present study is an attempt to look into the impact of Gandhian ideas on the writings of these three novelists.
