Description
"A monthly journal, The Spiritist Review – A Journal of Psychological Studies was first released in Paris on January 1st, 1858 and was published under Allan Kardec’s direct responsibility until his discarnation on March 31, 1869. From then until the present, the journal’s affairs have been the job of its continuers. Allan Kardec acted as a type of “independent platformâ€, from which he would probe people’s reactions and Spirits’ opinions on certain still-hypothetical or poorly understood subjects as he waited for the Spirits to confirm them through the agreement and universality of their teachings. Several chapters in the fundamental books of the Codification, in part or with minor changes, came to light by means of The Spiritist Review. In its wonderful pages, diverse topics are addressed, from mediumistic phenomenology in its various nuances to essays of the purest evangelical nature, life in the spirit world, the future fate reserved for those who practice or do not practice goodness, the fairness of reincarnation, divine goodness and mercy; in other words, all the fundamental principles on which Spiritism is based. In its nearly seven-thousand page Portuguese version, this collection comprises 12 volumes, referring to the years from 1858 to 1869. They were part of the Brazilian Spiritist Federation’s tribute to the Codifier of the Spiritist Doctrine during the Bicentennial celebrations of Allan Kardec’s birthday in 2004."
