Young People in Changing Societies (Regional Monitoring Report)

Young People in Changing Societies examines the transition generation - the 65 million young people aged 15-24 in Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States. They are putting the reforms of the last decade to the test as the first generation to complete their education, look for jobs and make decisions about raising families in a new socio-economic climate. Looking at health, education, employment, justice and the role of young citizens, the publication finds that progress for young people and progress in the transition are mutually supportive. Young People in Changing Societies includes a unique collection of statistical data on the region, showing trends in a wide range of areas over the last decade. It also breaks new ground by including qualitative data - the views of young people gathered in six transition countries.
