The Righteous Servants of God Revealed in the Last Age - Sermons on the Gospel of Luke (VII )

Yearn to Become the Faithful Servants of Righteousness Through the Gospel of Luke so far, we have come to understand how Gods love of salvation came to us, and how we the righteous are now able to live an upright life. God has caused us to be born again through the gospel of the water and the Spirit, and He has called us to be His servants, so that we would live for the sake of this true gospel. In fact, it is not by our own will that we have followed the Lord, but it is the Lord who has followed us to save us, and it is also the Lord who has chosen us and made us His servants. We have become the Lords servants neither because we are somehow qualified, nor because we are better than anyone else. All of us are like the colt that the Lord rode when He entered Jerusalem to be crucified. When the Lord reached Bethany, a town near Jerusalem, He sent his disciples to the village and said to them, Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. And if anyone asks you, Why are you loosing it? thus you shall say to him, Because the Lord has need of it (Luke 19:30-31). Indeed, as this passage shows, we have put on the glory of serving the Lord our God precisely because He has called us for His use even though we were stubborn and greedy just like the colt here. We therefore cannot help but thank the Lord for His grace in choosing us.
