Description
The Hedonist is a marvellous novelized auto¬biographic story. The author, great world traveller, witnessed important political-social happenings of the 20th century, such as the Parisian student rebellion in 1968, the hippy movement in the USA, the Cuban revolution, the coming to power of Salvador Allende in Chile and many more. His adventurous spirit led him to West Africa where he lived and worked for 20 years and from where he brings us an important treasure of experiences and original thoughts. The critical analysis of all his experiences with the catholic and other religions gives us a new outlook on our history, not only of the 20th century but since its making. Told in an easy narrative style, Jean Pierre Goffings catches us in The Hedonist from the first to the last page and be not surprised if you come out of this work with a strong Hedonist tendency. Jean Pierre Louis Marie Goffings was born on the 23th of June in 1943 in Diets-Heur, province of Limburg of the then called United Kingdom of Belgium. Coursed at the American University in Washington were he almost got a Master from the School of International Affairs with an African specialization. He gave courses and conferences at the University of Havana, San Marcos in Lima, Peru and Chile in Santiago among others. He was a consultant for rural development in the African Sahel zone in Mali and Chad and co-founder of the Chadian Livestock Company. Besides he founded the first off-shore sea farms in the Mediterranean and in the Gulf of Mexico were actually he is resident. Unsatisfied curiosity brought him to embrace the Grand Orient de France masonry obedience, of which he is an active member.
