Studies have shown the feasibility and effectiveness of ergonomic innovations for improving working and living conditions in rural and agricultural settings. This manual presents practical and concrete guidance on easy-to-implement ergonomic improvements, particularly in developing countries.

The result of long-term collaboration between the ILO and the International Ergonomics Association, the book compiles one hundred illustrated examples of practical ergonomic improvements that can be achieved at little or no cost. The checkpoints each describe an action, indicate why it is necessary and how to carry it out, and provide further hints and points to remember.
