The Guangdong Development Model and Its Challenges

As Hong Kong's neighbour and as the most dynamic province of China, Guangdong is in search of a new direction of development. This search is necessitated in good part by the changing strategic focus of China's "open policy" － a shift from the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province to the Pudong area of Shanghai in the Yangtze River Delta. The "Guangdong Model" is now rivalled by other development models. This book consists of 14 chapters and discusses many economic and social issues.
