Dialogos. Forum Universal de las Culturas Monterrey 2007. Recursos naturales y sustentabilidad (Spanish Edition)

Debates around natural resources and sustainability conducted in the event Dialogues of the Universal Forum of Cultures Monterrey 2007, attracted public attention towards the most relevant issues of both regional and global agenda on natural resources related to development. Result of the different fields of expertise the participants had was possible to analyze and update data on the impact of human activities on the planet now and the years to come as well as efforts of governments, organizations, researchers, universities, public institutions and the community to seek solutions and agreements that lead to solutions to minimize ecology damage. The concept of sustainability crystallizes the social goals that encourage the generation and prevalence of innovative knowledge, as well as respect for cultural diversity, promotion and coexistence for peace, and a development that considers the preservation and rescue of the environment. This volume contains texts on the loss of habitats and species, the implications of water consumption and energy and, of course, climate change from scientific, administrative and political point of view.
