The Shrine, erected on December 8, 1989, is dedicated to peace as exemplified by the ourpouring of faith during the EDSA revolution of 1986, and to the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose intercession at that crucial stage of the Philippines' history showed her abiding, immeasurable love and care for her children.
