Some information in this book may have been superseded by events over the past 50 years, but the book remains relevant as critical background information needed to understand the historical development of the Chinese community in Thailand, as well as changing legislation concerning the Chinese and their education. New dimensions have opened up for the Chinese in Thailand, with broader economic and educational opportunities, as China itself has liberalized.
