Synopsis: Kartosuwiryo was raised in a family of Islamic scholars, but later in life he became a rebel who fought for the establishment of Darul Islam. He was considered a leader by a group of people who wanted to have an Islam state in Indonesia. Sekarmadji Maridjan Kartosuwiryo learned Islam by himself. The information he gathered made him conclude that he should fight against the Republic which at the time was struggling against the Dutch's aggression.
