Heterogeneous Taipei: Post-60 Mid/low-rise Housing Renovation Makes City (English and Taiwanese Chinese Edition)

Focusing on proposals envisioned by young architects for the city of Taipei, this publication addresses wider themes in urban development and habitation, such as quotidian elements, common space and housing as urban intervention, and seeks to redefine current discourse on residential approaches in the city. Housing projects in Taipei, according to C. David Tseng, derive from existing elements that are deeply rooted in our urban living culture. Changes in social structure, economic improvements and green awareness all contribute to an evolution of the ideal of cohabitation, demonstrated through key projects and expanded with fresh design ideas.
