Urban Furniture: A New City Life

The book introduces various kinds of urban fixtures in public spaces. Some of them are specially designed for certain contexts, while some, which are outstanding for the embedded innovation and creativity, could be applied in different places. Several themes are included here: the evolution of urban seats, from single stools to benches that have become a landscape element; the preservation of water resources and ways of utilization; urban communication through creative fixtures on walls, floors, and in the air; public playgrounds for children; sanitation of a city; the necessity of bicycles and their development; and new green vision of a city.
