The Silhouette of Truth - Omnath Pokharel

This is an anthology of short stories about the identity crisis resulting from the disenfranchisement of the Southern Bhutanese aka Lhotshampas following the mass movement for democracy in 1990. The writer struggles to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC), without which he would be denied the right to any opportunities in his home country. The stories are based on real life stories of individuals that the author was acquainted with. This anthology was published posthumously upon discovering a manuscript in his desktop. He was optimistic about changes that would ameliorate the conditions in Bhutan and that he would be able to contribute in nation building as a son of his "tiny great nation, the Royal Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan."
