Ikonite vo Makedonija (Icons of Macedonia) (Macedonian and English Edition)

Victor Grigorovic's traveller's notes' which contain the first mention in writing on medieval art of the icons of the Macedonian churches and monasteries can be taken as the beginning of research interest in icon-painting in Macedonia. As, moreover, the archaeological notes and scholarly research of N.P. Kondakov mention the most important Ohrid icons and their gold revêtements for the first time, it should be emphasised that the interest of scholars in Macedonian icons has existed for over a century.
