INFORM's Report on China at the Crossroads -- Energy, Transportation and The 21st Century

Sustainable Transportation. Since 1986, INFORM has been a leader in promoting the use of cleaner, safer alternatives to the gasoline- and diesel-fueled vehicles that are major contributors to global climate change and to health-threatening urban air pollution. INFORM’s research has consistently identified natural gas as a clean, inexpensive, domestically plentiful alternative fuel for today’s vehicles. These findings helped convince the natural gas industry to begin promoting its product as a vehicle fuel in the early 1990s. For the past seven years, INFORM has conducted urban outreach to encourage a widespread shift to natural gas as the first step in a long-term transition to the hydrogen fuel cell.
