The Limited Editions Club. Of this edition of Memoirs of an Infantry Officer, 2000 copies have been made for the members of the Limited Editions Club. It has been designed by Dennis J. Grastorf with drawings by Paul Hogarth and printed at the Anthoensen Press in Portland, Maine. This copy is number 1252 and it is signed by the artist. The book is in near fine condition. The Monthly Letter of The Limited Editions Club laid in, along with the letter of the description and manufacturing of the book. The box slipcase and glassine wrapping are in excellent condition. The eighth volume in the Forty-fifth Series of fine books made for the members of The Limited Editions Club is Memoirs of an Infantry Officer by Siegfried Sassoon, with and introduction by David Daiches. The book is illustrated by Paul Hogarth with eight full-page water colors and fifteen monochrome vignettes. The format has been planned by Dennis J. Grastorf. The text has been set in twelve-point Linotype Baskerville, with two points of leading; larger sizes of Baskerville have been employed for the display lines. The composition and printing of the text have been performed at The Anthoensen Press of Portland, Maine. The reproduction plates of the water colors were made by Rainbows, Inc., of Hazardvill, Connecticut, and printed by the Thomas Todd Company in Boston, Massachusetts. The page size is 7 x 9 7/8 inches, and there are 264 pages. The soft-white eggshell-finish wove stock was specially made for this edition at the Monadnock mill in Bennington, New Hampshire. The binding is in full cloth, a natural linen imported from Germany, stamped in Genuine GOLD. The book has been bound by A. Horowitz & Sons in Fairfield, New Jersey.
