Microscopic examination of urinary sediments provides many valuable clues in the detection and evaluation of urinary-tract disorders. The supravital staining is a rapid and simple procedures. The immediate observation of the staining and the reaction of the cells to the toxic effect of the dyes may give an indication of cell viability and membrane integrity.
