📖 Description
Masonry Along the Brazos Valley was written in celebration of the Sesquicentennial of the Independence of Texas and the chartered organization of Freemasonry in Texas. Author George H. T. French focuses specifically on the Valley of the Brazos River, the true heartland of Texas. In the preface, the author explains that much of Texas's early history, both political and Masonic, was made and written along the banks and fords of the Brazos River. "Stalwart Texians, pioneer men, and strong women, strode up and down that Valley unafraid and determined. A cinematic view of their faces, the events they participated in, and the places where the action took place, should make the Texans of today proud of their history and their Masonry... The purpose [of the book] is not to present a treatise on geography, history, or chronology, but to describe whatever came into the traveler's kaleidoscopic view."
