From the Biographical Sketch:Norma Keating is a native New Yorker. Her father, John E. Connolly, Jr., was born in Rahway, New Jersey. Her grandfather was born on the west side of Forty-Second Street. He was of Irish descent, a grain merchant, and breeder and owner of famous trotters. He was well known at the race tracks at Goshen, N.Y., Fleetwood and others, for his trotters that carried off the most prizes. Paternal grandmother -- Priscilla Alden Coriell's father's family -- were from Trenton, New Jersey. One of her ancestors was a shipbuilder and owner of the old Trenton Ferry. Colonel Henry Shoemaker, state archivist of the State Library and Museum of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, says that George Washington used one of Coriell's boats in his famous crossing of the Delaware. They were French Huguenots. General George Washington presented him with an engraved sword. Some of the Coriells intermarried with American Indian stock. Priscilla Alden Coriell's mother's people were Puritans . . ....Wrote most of her poems in "Giants and Dwarfs"... over a period of twenty years......Norma has also written children's stories on The New Reading Material project for The Board of Education. The stories were printed and used in the schools of New York City and Brooklyn......Henry Harrison published Norma Keating's first poem in a Colorado paper, her later poems in "The Greenwich Village Quill"...
