From the supplier: The use of video captioning technology is proving to be a valuable learning tool in the Harvard English as a Second Language (ESL) program. An annual total of 1,200 non-native speakers watch captioned video materials in the classroom, the language laboratory and in small study groups. Being able to see the words as they hear them enables these students to bridge the gap between printed and spoken language. The more than 1,500 closed-captioned videocassettes on the market, combined with 90 hours of available network television programming, assure a wide variety of language resources. The decoder boxes originally employed in the program have been replaced with the more convenient Caption Master VCR from Instant Replay, Inc.
