From the supplier: The National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) is examining the Solvency and Financial Enforcement Trust (Safe-T) proposal for regulating property and casualty (p-c) insurance company solvency. NCOIL Pres Richard Worman is enthusiastically supportive of the Safe-T plan as a simple and logical alternative to a risk-based capital formula being prepared by insurance regulators. Safe-T would require p-c companies to deposit capital assets equal to insurance liabilities with a financial institution and supplement the trust account as liabilities increase.
