From the supplier: A report issued by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Assn indicates that the availability of bare-bones health insurance polices has not affected the insurance market nor has lowered the numbers of uninsured people in states that have introduced it. The research showed that bare-bones health insurance policies are sold in only 11 of the 24 states that passed basic health insurance laws. Blues research director Susan Laudicini, the author of the report, believes that only a federally-mandated and financed basic policy would benefit all individuals and small businesses.
