From the supplier: Students at an innovative computer-aided drafting and design and desktop publishing course at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, CA use donated products from Logitech Inc to learn new skills. Teacher Jerry Rye starts students off with an assignment that uses the Paintshow Plus drawing program to create and enhance a design, utilizing the package's 20 graphics tools and 16 colors. Students then learn to use Logitech's Scanman scanning device and Finesse Publisher, a page-layout and design software which features templates, clip art and other desktop publishing tools. In addition, students learn how to incorporate material into a desktop presentation using Catchword, an optical character recognition software. At the end of the course, students have created their own flyer or resume and learned a valuable skill.
