But it can be time-consuming and expensive to find a suitable membrane for a particular treatment application. Armfield Ltd, in collaboration with PCI Membrane Systems Ltd, has developed a miniature ultrafiltration and reverse-osmosis test plant. Using small quantities of test liquid, the unit can test membranes under simulated industrial conditions.
