From the supplier: Property managers faced with an elevator problem must first identify the exact nature of the problem. If the problem is traced to substandard elevator service, a manager must first ascertain three key points. These are whether the elevator equipment can meet a building's traffic demands, whether the equipment requires an overhaul or not, and whether the maintenance program used is adequate. Steps that a manager can undertake to determine the extent of the problem are to assess elevator car performance, traffic demands and system capability. Having established these variables, a decision could then be made as to whether to repair, overhaul or upgrade the system.
