From the supplier: The history of the development of Iraq's oil resources from 1927 to 1939 was evaluated to demonstrate the influence of the international cartel. Oil discovery was in 1927 but its commercial potential was not realized till 1934. The development of the Iraqi oil industry was delayed to protect the vested interests of the multinational group in control of the resources. Foreign conglomerates operating in Iraq controlled majority shares in almost all of Iraq's major petroleum companies.
