From the supplier: Frank Russell Co's chief real estate advisor Blake Eagle is leading efforts to establish a private real estate investment exchange together with Barbara Cambon of Institutional Property Consultants Inc. He envisions this investment exchange as a clearinghouse that would provide buyers and sellers with opportunities to obtain quality information on properties, to get to know each other's intentions and to make transactions. The non-profit investment exchange will not be involved in brokering, trading or market trading, but will instead focus on managing an efficient secondary market in pooled real estate fund shares owned by pension trusts. Eagle believes that the acceptance of the Clearinghouse among pension funds will lead to increased pension investments in real estate since the lack of liquidity and confidence in the appraisal process will no longer be problems given an active secondary market.
