From the supplier: A seven step process for the planning and authoring of multimedia presentations in the classroom is detailed. Multimedia presentations require the same careful attention to instructional design that traditional curricular planning requires. The first step is to determine which educational materials are best suited to the visual enhancement that characterizes multimedia presentations. Secondly, a list of clear educational objectives is required. Third, the sequence of the presentation should be structured. This is followed by a list that details the media materials that the presentation will require, which should be detailed to include videodisc frame numbers and clip art file numbers. The best means of presenting the material should then be considered. A storyboard approach will further aid the presenter in clarifying the sequence of presentation. Finally, in the authoring stage and following the initial presentation, one should be flexible and open to feedback and suggestions from students and colleagues.
