From the supplier: A soil database was designed as part of a microcomputer-based Geographic Information Systems/land information system (GIS/LIS) to provide information in answering rural problems in Miami County, IN. The database design was aimed at ensuring efficient data processing by eliminating unneccessary information and minimizing update and deletion problems. The GIS/LIS provides efficient combinationand analysis of georeferenced and descriptive data from different sources. This allows scientists, planners, managers and decision-makers to better understand and manage natural resources.
