From the supplier: The Supreme Court of the Turks and Caicos Islands charged Gerald Eugene Thornton with selling about $1.6 million in worthless property and liability insurance policies for motor vehicles. Thornton successfully used an undersea tour business called the Mid-Atlantic Representative Association Ltd as a front until policyholders complained about not being compensated. Thornton was fined $7,000 and sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
