From the supplier: An alternative model of habit persistence was constructed to analyze aggregate consumption behavior. The model is unique because it allows habit not only to influence current consumption behavior but also to alter Ronsumers' preference behavior. Results indicate that habit persistence affects consumer preferences for all goods examined, especially housing and durable goods. It was also shown that housing and durable goods are habitual consumption commodities, and that past consumption of these two goods affect current consumption behavior towards other goods as well.
