From the supplier: An UK regulatory official has denied that the UK Dept of Trade and Industry will imminently publish a health warning against Bermuda reinsurance companies, as reported on Mar 18, 1994, in Lloyd's List. However, he did say that regulators are examining the reinsurance activity of UK companies in the wake of the insolvency of Bermuda Fire and Marine. A spokesman of Bermuda-based Renaissance Reinsurance Ltd noted that other Bermuda companies do differ from Bermuda Fire and Marine in the lines they carry and in their economic conditions.
