From the supplier: ITT Hartford lobbyist John Shelk said that insurance companies should unite in their approach to Superfund reform rather than argue with each other, in remarks at the Bureau International de Producteurs Assurance et Reassurance annual meeting. Such divisiveness could cause the industry to lose political credibility, he said. Shelk noted that while all parties involved wanted to repeal the retroactive liability clause of Superfund, some parties do not believe it can be done.
