From the supplier: A report on the findings of a test on the influence of transaction cost analysis in the context of private fleet use is presented. Results indicate that both transaction costs and market considerations both influence private fleet use. A shipper will use private fleet to minimize the chances that carrier changes will lead to increased cost and decreased service. Likewise, shippers who sell to small retailers have a greater tendency to use private fleets for their biggest clients.
