From the supplier: The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) selected the INFOBOT series voice-response systems from Syntellect Inc (Phoenix, AZ) to streamline the class enrollment process. Previously, it took 2.5-months to process the enrollment applications of 24,000 undergraduate students, leaving only a week before the start of classes for adding or changing classes. UCLA's new University Records System Access (URSA) online enrollment system uses ten Premier INFOBOT voice-response units and 40 telephones to handle all undergraduate class enrollment. URSA will also handle enrollment for the university's 10,000 graduate students beginning in 1992. UCLA also acquired a 72-line Emperor INFOBOT to handle undergraduate grade information requests beginning in Dec 1990. Other services have been added to URSA, including course grade data, grade point averages and number of complete and incomplete units. Other information services for students will be added in the future.
