From the supplier: Utilitarianism assists employers in analyzing the ethical aspects of compensation decisions, since it is similar to cost/benefit analysis. Both cost/benefit analysis and utilitarianism give the business sector advice on actions to take so that benefits are greater than costs. In cognizance of society's increased criticism of employers who practice hiring part-time employees who are not paid fringe benefits unlike full-time workers who are, business needs ethical systems upon which to base compensation decisions. Among many ethical systems, utilitarianism is most ideal for decision-makers to adopt.
