From the supplier: Jostens Learning Corp's InterActiveMedia is an interactive learning system that makes full use of the potential of digital multimedia technology. The network is comprised of a file server, and teacher and student workstations based on three hardware and software components. The MediaServer is an 80486DX-based multimedia storage and management system that utilizes up to ten 1.2Gbyte hard disks, multiple SCSI II controllers and an intelligent drive array to provide individualized instructional materials across the network. The Card, an integrated audio, video, VGA and networking board, overlays compressed video files onto 16-bit or Super VGA displays. The Hub, an intelligent router/concentrator, accommodates 10Base-T ports to link up to 128 video users. The turnkey system is being tested in schools across the nation in the fall semester of 1992.
