From the supplier: An increasing number of local governments are turning to credit cards and electronic payment systems as a means of maximizing revenues. Credit cards are now being accepted as payment for real estate taxes, parking fees and court fines among others. Also, governments are finding out that electronic payment systems are more convenient and result in less paperwork. The District of Columbia government is presented as a case study in credit card acceptance by local governments.
