From the supplier: Employee appraisals can serve as effective means of increasing employee motivation and gaining employee satisfaction. Small real estate management companies, in particular, can gain valuable insight from the performance evaluation systems of larger organizations in other industries. It is important that careful consideration is given to the legal, ethical and business aspects of the appraisal process. Among the considerations that must be made in the development and implementation of an effective performance evaluation system are the recognition of the system as a continuous process, the documentation of individual behavior, the use of clear and specific descriptions of observable behavior, the use of corrective feedback that is based on observable behavior, and the use of a constructive and positive feedback during appraisal interviews.
