From the supplier: A study was conducted to determine the effects of cost sharing on marginal outpatient expenditures. The study focuses on a comparison of expenditures for consumers using fee-for-service (FFS) and health maintenance organization (HMO) assistance. Results show that only changes in an individual's health status generated an impact on health insurance expenditures. These results imply a slight variation for physician service types.
