From the supplier: The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CALPERS) has become a force to be reckoned with in real estate investment under the leadership of its Mortgage Investment Officer Roger Franz. In the six years that he has held this position, Franz has been active in standardizing and centralizing a wide variety of asset management functions, including pension advisor reporting. In fact, the CALPERS reporting requirements are so comprehensive that they are now on their way to becoming the industry standard. Franz believes that standardization provides a way for CALPERS to better understand its portfolio, generate better returns for the fund, and make advisors and property management companies assume greater accountability. The Mortgage Investment Officer is currently working on improving CALPERS's Annual Investment Plan.
