From the supplier: Denmark's 'Energy 2000' plan and Netherland's 'National Environment Plan' are aimed at controlling global warming by increasing the use of biogas and wind turbines, improving energy efficiency in buildings by better insulation and co-generation, which simultaneously produces electricity and heat. Bicycles and public transport are presented as good alternatives to private motor vehicles. Though new energy taxes are planned to discourage the use of oil and coal, the governments have to be careful not to hurt the domestic industry, which is dependent on exports, by raising taxes.
