RIT professor William Keyser says that his school adopts a handcraftsmanship attitude which is imparted to young aspiring furniture makers. RIT boasts of being the only school allowing a student to major in the field in his or her first year. Some prominent alumni of RIT are Jeff Behnke, John Lutz and Lamar White.
