From the supplier: Vulcanization retarders are used to delay curing to allow time to process unvulcanized rubber. The materials that are used commercially for this retarding are cyclohexylthiophthalimide, organic acids and anhydrides and the proprietary sulfonamide, Vulkalent E. Several examples of organic acid retarders are described. Methods of crosslinking elastomers, and the most common technique used, accelerated sulfur, are also discussed. Additionally, formulas and charts show the effects of sulfur curing.
