From the supplier: Increased state income tax enforcement requires corporations doing business in more than one state to consider multiple tax return filings, nexus issues and apportionment of income among states. A state's taxing authority is based on whether a sufficient nexus exists between the entity and the state. If a nexus is established in multiple states, total income is allocated based on sales, payroll and property to determine share of taxable income. Passthrough entities' income is simply taxed at the shareholder level in the state of residence of each shareholder.
