From the supplier: The MOSAIC program, developed by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, provides access to hypermedia resources over the Internet via a graphical user interface. This software will be of tremendous benefit to educators wishing to utilize information off of the Internet in the classroom. The Internet, sometimes referred to as a prototype of the information superhighway, lacks central control over its vast resources, making searching very difficult. MOSAIC presents a unique navigation tool, letting users access not only text, but also images, motion pictures, and audio files. MOSAIC lets users navigate through hyperlinks embedded within documents. Users can retrieve information simply by clicking on a piece of text in the on-screen document. MOSAIC can be used to connect to many Internet resources, including the World Wide Web (WWW). WWW is a collection of servers around the world, organized by location or subject matter.
